Overview
Albert Arch Dekin, Jr., was an archeaologist/anthropologist who taught at Binghamton University, joining the faculty in 1976. He was well known for his work assessing the archaeological, historical and cultural resources damage caused by the Exxon Valdez oil spill for the U.S Dept. of Agriculture Forest Service. He served as director of the Public Archaeology Facility (PAF) at BU for 11 years and served as the chair of the Dept. of Anthropology for several terms.
