Personal papers, 1878 - 1972

 Series
Identifier: 1

Scope and Contents

This series includes personal files of Lamont M. Bowers, the majority of which are incoming and outgoing correspondence with family and friends. Other topics that are captured through membership cards and ephemera include of his involvement in local organizations such as the Knights of Pythias fraternity, the Freemasons, the Presbyterian church, Bowers' 70th birthday, his funeral and estate, family genealogy, and a memoir. The series also contains a small amount of correspondence to and from Clement Bowers - L.M. Bowers' son - regarding his father's funeral and estate.

Because many of the family's financial records were mixed into the business records, some personal financial material can be found in the Bowers-owned businesses series, especially with the receipts and ledgers.
