Scope and Contents

Mainly clippings of undated images, a few death notices, theater advertisements, most clippings are early (about 1915-1930).

News articles about death of W.C. Fields (1946), death of Florenz Ziegfeld (1932), Charles Purcell (1962), Leon Errol (1951), Bert Williams (1922), Olive Thomas (1920), Grant Mitchell (1957), William Brady (1936), Dame Marie Tempest (1942), Ruth Chatterton (1961), Conway Wongfield (1948); hand typed death notices for Mrs. Jaques Martin (Lilliam Gerome) (1936) and Paul Dickey (1933); small death notices for Lynne Overman (1943) and John Maurice Sullivan (1949).

Programs for: the Ziegfeld Follies at the New Amsterdam Theatre, 1915, Daddy Long-Legs at the Gaiety Theatre, 1915, It Pays To Advertise at Geo. M. Cohen's Theatre, (undated), Mary Goes First at the Majestic, 1915, various performers at the Orpheum Theatre (1919).

Figures from the Ziegfield Follies are heavily represented including Ina Claire, Justine Johnstone, W.C. Fields, Mae Murray, Mae Paul, Ann Pennighton, Lucille Cavanaugh, Olive Thomas, Kay Laurell, Leon Errol, Vivenne Oakland, Bert Williams, Margaret Morris, Ruth Shepley, Ruth Chatterton, Gilda Leary, Cecile Breton, Marie Tempest, and others.
