Scope and Contents

Continuation of scrapbook assembled by Edith Adams Stone from programs collected by her mother, Ada Gertrude (Harrison) Adams.

Mounted theatre-related clippings, most undated. Most of the clippings are simply images rather than full articles, sources are most often not indicated. Some early photographs/photocards. Death notices account for most recent dates.

Programs: "The Mikado" at Albaugh's Grand Opera House, 1890; "Erminie" at Albaugh's, 1890; Concerts at the Brighton Beach Music Hall, 1890; Gilmore's Grand Concerts at Manhattan Beach, 1890; "Beau Brummell" at the Madison Square Theatre, 1890; "The Merry Monarch" at the Broadway Theatre, 1890; "Mme. Angot" at The Casino, 1890; "82d Concert of the Orchestra of Eduard Strauss and the Two Grand Ballets, Peace and War, and Choosing the National Flower" at Madison Square Garden, 1890; "The Charity Ball" at the New National Theatre, 1890; "Ina" at the New National Theatre, 1890; typed cast list for "The Senator" at Albaugh's, c1890; typed cast list for "The Henrietta" at Albaugh's, 1890; "The Master of Woodbarrow" at the New National Theatre, 1891; "The Heir-at-Law" at the New National Theatre, 1891.

Of note: Colorized souvenir program for "My Partner" starring Louis Aldrich and Charles T. Parsloe, with the Superb Star Company. No theatre/date given, about 1890.

Of note: Color cardboard item, three pieces in the shape of a circle. It is printed on both sides but, unfortunately, is glued to the paper. On it: "Oriole, Baltimore, Sept. 13th 1883" and a verse by George Eliot. May be related to the Oriole Festival, which was in Baltimore September 11-13 that year.

News pieces about deaths of Alice Stansfield Fitzgerald (Alice Vincent)(1935), Louis De Lange (1906), Anton Seidl (1898).

Performers featured include The Carleton Opera Co., Lamont Opera Co., Richard Mansfield, Francis Wilson and Company, Daniel Frohman's New York Lyceum Theatre Company, Charlotte Mignon "Lotta" Crabtree, Stuart Robson, Edward Hugh Sothern, Jefferson-Florence Comedy Company.
