"By courtesy of the Governors of the old Vic to whom the thanks of the Society for Theatre Research and the William Poel Centenary Committee are most gratefully accorded A Special Performance in commemoration of the work of William Poel (1852-1934), presented under the auspices of The Society for Theatre Research by distinguished members of the theatrical profession under the direction of Robert Atkins, C.B.E., Friday, 11th July, 1952, at 2:30 p.m."
