Garvan, Francis Patrick, notes on criminal investigations and cases, 1900 - 1906
Scope and Contents
Typescript notes made by or for Francis Patrick Garvan (1875 - 1937) in his capacity as Assistant District Attorney in New York City, a position he held from 1900 to 1910. The notes included here include the years 1900 through 1906. Level of detail varies, but there is typically a brief synopsis of the case, sometimes references to press coverage, and a note on the disposition of the case. Note: there are no materials included here related to the trials of Harry Thaw, Nan Patterson, Roland Molineaux, or the Dodge-Morse case.
At the end of the file are the second and third pages of a speech about electricity; it is unclear whether this goes with the rest of the material or not.
