Scope and Contents
The Amy Gilbert papers document the social life of Gilbert, including her social circles, her family, and events she attended. The majority of the collection is made up of correspondence from 1959, mostly incoming. Letters are from friends, old collegues, other female educators, and family. Events Gilbert attended are documented through programs and invitations. She attended events for female faculty, talks on education, local weddings and graduations, and garden tours.
Gilberrt's PhD thesis is also included in the collection.
