Scope and Contents
Writes from Pekin, New York that he been mustered out of the Army. He describes marching to Hart Island where he received his discharge. Afterward, he visited Colonel Baker at the hospital on Davids' Island. Leroy writes about retuning the Colonel's horses to Jersey City and then set out for home, arriving in Pekin on July 15, 1865. Envelope dated August 11, 1865.
