Greta Lake and Suzanne Geoghegan papers, 1966 - 2001
Scope and Contents
This series contains the papers of Greta Lake and her daughter, Suzanne Geoghegan, who were both heavily involved in Broome County Peace Action (BCPA). The division between the two women's papers are often unclear. A large portion of this series is publications that BCPA collected, but were produced by other organizations. These include newspaper clippings, reports, newsletters, flyers and brochures, and educational materials.
There is also correspondence in this series and program files for BCPA. Program files document BCPA protest events, education campaigns, letters-to-the-editor, newsletters, petitions, the Visions of Peace poetry contest, and the Campaign To Oppose Crisis Relocation. Greta Lake was responsible for several of BCPA's public relations campaigns, including Letter to the Editor campaigns, the Speakers Bureau, and publicity, so publicity and press are particularly well documented in this series.
