John Porcius Gage to Grace D. Nichols, January 15, 1866
Scope and Contents
Written from Vineland, Cumberland County, New Jersey. Opens "My Dear Grace." Reports receiving hers of January 1, 1866 on January 10. He had not returned to Lambertville as planned and was attending school in Vineland. He describes his teachers and mentions that he had seen Celia and asks Grace to let him know if she gets married so that he can attend the wedding. Mentions that there is a dance but he is not attending because he fears the building might collapse.
