Biographical Note

Bessie Virginia Hotchkiss was the first wife of Charles M. Dickinson. Bessie Virginia Hotchkiss was the only daughter of Giles M. Hotchkiss, an attorney in Binghamton. In March 1867, she married Charles M. Dickinson. They later had two sons, Charles H. and Giles H., and adopted a daughter, Mary A. Mason, a writer. Bessie Virginia Hotchkiss Dickinson died in April 1908.
