Scope and Contents
This series contains materials related to Lindsay’s research of the early-20th-century Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky. Materials in this series include transcribed and translated letters written by Kandinsky, letters and documents detailing Lindsay’s involvement in art museum exhibitions of Kandinsky’s work, and letters relating to the publication of the book Kandinsky, Complete Writings on Art co-edited by Lindsay and Peter Vergo. Other materials included in the series are Lindsay’s research notes and his letters to Gabriele Münter, who was a one-time student and companion of Kandinsky.
