Scope and Contents

This sub-series contains the files of Evangelos “Van” Dousmanis. The majority of the files are photographs, negatives, and CDs of digital photos taken by Dousmanis. Photos cover a variety of topics, including sports events, award ceremonies, portraits of faculty, campus buildings and construction, and homecoming. There is also press ID badges, correspondence, and a sketchbook in the subseries.

There are additional files related to Dousmanis in the Anita Doll records. Doll was a collegue of Dousmanis, and it appears their files may have been mixed together at some point. Photos by Dousmanis are also found in photo files throughout the Communications and Marketing records.

Biographical Note

Evangalos "Van" Dousmanis began working at the University of Binghamton in January 1996 as University Photographer. The position of University Photographer was new in 1995, and was created in preperation for the 1996 celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the University. Dousmanis also taught several courses at the University, including in digital image editing and photojournalism.
