Scope and Contents

This series contains records related to Peacock's time in the governing body of the Poetry Society of America (PSA). Files are related to the two major roles that Peacock held at the PSA, first as one of the originators of the Poetry in Motion project and then as president. Files include correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, promotional materials, event planning, speeches, grant applications, newsletters, and Poetry in Motion placards.

Historical Note

Peacock served as President of the Poetry Society of America from 1989 to 1995, and again from 1999 to 2001. She was also one of the originators of Poetry in Motion, a popular program that places poems on placards in subways and buses.
