Historical Note
Note by Molly Peacock, written in 2022: "Apple green silk + linen suit worn to Michael Groden’s Honorary Doctorate Ceremony at UC Dublin on St Stephen’s Green, June 16, 2004, where we sat with Harold Pinter (who made a pass at me and sang 'the Brown and the Yellow Ale') and with a very broad Lady Antonia Fraser. Roddy Doyle also received an honorary degree. Seamus Heaney came to the ceremony. On impulse I wore this suit which I designed and Ann Stantoloupo executed, on the plane to Dublin, fearing my suitcase would be lost. And the suitcase was lost! But wearing the suit saved me for the ceremony, and Mike, and Harold with whom I chatted about his beautiful screenplay for 'Turtle Diary.'"
