Scope and Contents
This series contains records created and recieved by John Benson, Special Admissions Program Director. Files included document the early years of the Educational Opportunities Program (EOP), the Jackson State Project, and the Transitional Year Program (TYP). Files include correspondence with various leaders at the University, reports, committee minutes, and project proposals. Benson also carried out an extensive study contacting the alumni of TYP and researching outcomes of the programs. Files related to this study include research materials and notes, correspondence, draft and completed questionairres, data tables, lists of students, and reports.

Materials in this collection have been thoroughly reviewed for possible restrictions.
