Dirnenmilieu, Approximately 1920-1930

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 42

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series contains character designs, which unlike costume design designs, are meant to capture the aesthetic and physicality of a character without producing technical sketches. These works may be Neher's classic 'sketches,' refering to paintings he made during the planning and rehearsals of plays that were meant to capture the aesthetic of the production. While the artworks often show aspects of costume design, the costume design series is more focused on the technical aspects of costuming.
