Clark Lockwood to Mother, February 10, 1871
Written at Middlebury Center, Tioga County, Pennsylvania on letterhead of the Wellsboro & Lawrenceville Railroad, Ward & Menardi, Contractors. Reports on a fire in Tioga which had burned many of the buildings.
Envelope not postmarked. Written at top left: "Mid Center, Pa, Feb 11/71." Addressed to "Mrs. Jane Lockwood, Watkins, N.Y."
Unknown to Clark Lockwood [Partial letter], August 5, 1892
The first sheet of a letter written to Clark Lockwood from Rico, Colorado. Reports on the trip out via Chicago, visiting an old chum from Peekskill in Denver, and that Rico is "quite lovely, more so than when you were here I should think." Notes that the mines are very rich and that he and Carpenter are "great chums." The letter ends abruptly at the end of the first sheet.
