This series contains a broad range of material, including figure studies, composition studies, and more. Some of the works in this series may have been produced for the theater, in particular some works may be studies of different blockings. Without additional information it is not possible to know which works are studies for personal use and which are studies for professional use.

This series consists of sketchbooks, including student sketchbooks, and portfolios for various plays. At some point in time, some of the sketch books in this series were cut apart and had to be reconstructed during processing. The portfolios contain extensive annotations by Neher in German about various aspects of the play. The Argonauten and Medea portfolio is of particular interest as it contains technical drawings for designing various props and furniture for the production.
