John B. and Kate Smith Livernoche letters
Letters received by John B. Livernoche (1848 - 1917) and Kate Smith Livernoche (1850 - 1908), with one note received by their daughter Laura. There is some unrelated material in the final folder. John and Kate moved to Binghamton, New York in 1871, where John worked as a shoemaker.

The newsletters reflect a wide variety of interests, such as political, social, health, and environmental concerns and issues, as well as arts, education, historical accounts, and religion. They include calendars of events, available services, and informative articles.

This collection contains newspaper issues from Binghamton and the surrounding area. Most are small runs or scattered issues, but we do have extensive holdings of "The Reporter" (the newspaper of the Jewish Federation of Broome County), "The Music Press," and the "Labor-Community Reporter."
