Slovak-Catholic Union of Binghamton membership roll books, 1904 - 1919
Scope and Contents
Two ledger volumes containing membership rolls of the Binghamton chapter (#166) of the Slovak-Catholic Union.
The larger of the two volumes, with "Rožková Účtovnica" stamped in gilt on the front board, contains biographical information about the members, as well as dues rolls from 1904 to 1912. The volume is stamped in purple on the front pastedown: "Fred J. Matlisek, Binghamton, N.Y." A membership list dated 1919 as well as two deeds of exclusion are laid in at front.
The smaller of the two volumes, with "Roll Book" stamped in gilt on the front board, contains membership logs and dues paid for the years 1911, 1912, and 1913. Several items are laid in at the front: four receipts from the Office of the Recording Secretary in Middletown, Pennsylvania; two doctor's notes from 1913 confirming that men were unable to work during certain periods due to injury or illness; and a sheet containing names and totals, perhaps a draft.
