Titchener's Standard Confectionery (Binghamton) advertising cards, about 1880s - 1890s
Scope and Contents
Two advertising cards:
- One-sided example featuring a generic illustration of a man and a woman riding penny-farthing style bicycles, the man falling off, reads "To prevent your children from using unwholesome candies, insist on having the 'Standard Confectionary,' Manufactured by H. Titchener, Binghamton, N. Y. | The goods packed with this card are made from pure sugar, and are absolutely free from glucose, grape sugar, or any other adulteration.
- Double-sided example printed with gold features a young girl with a basket of sweets on recto, with copyright noticed at lower margin reading "Copyright by Henry Seifert, A. D. 188[?]". Printed verso reads "Always ask for Titchener's Standard Confectionery, and thus get the best Pure, Fresh, Reliable, Manufactured at | No. 133 Washington Street, Binghamton, N. Y."
