Overview

These items were primarily assembled between 1962 and 1995 by members of the Binghamton University Theatre Department. The main focus of this collection is theater but there are also materials relating to motion pictures, music and dance. Included are scrapbooks, programs, photographs, and ephemera such as tickets and broadsides.

Scope and Contents

Undated manuscript play, "Dorothy Clyde; or, The Squire's Daughter." Sixteen sheets, written on both sides. Written in black ink, with stage directions and other additions in pink. At the end of the text is written "Revised by F. Lizzie Peirce." This is perhaps copied out of a published volume in which the play appeared.

Overview Peter Wexler (1936 - 2022) worked for seven decades in performance art, as a designer of scenery, costumes, lighting, concerts, performance space, and outdoor concert facilities, as well as a producer and as a studio artist. He studied at the University of Michigan, graduating in 1958, and attended the Yale School of Drama. The Peter Wexler papers contain materials from his professional career from 1948 to 1969.
