Scope and Contents
Sealed envelope for the IBM Open House held at IBM Plant 1 in Endicott on November 13, 1954. The envelope features an image of the Spring Detent Contact Tip, and reads beneath "The parts in this envelope are the components of the above assembly. These units are assembled automatically at a rate of 160 per minute." A block of text in an arrow pointing toward this text reads "Such an invention relieves assembly people of a monotonous and repetitive operation. This makes them available for more creative jobs."
