Binghamton City Guards "20 S. N. Y. NG." button, 1878 - 1903

Scope and Contents

Gold-colored button with a large "20" at center, "Binghamton City Guards" around the center ring, and "S" "N" "Y" "NG" in the four compartments around the outside. In 1878 the Binghamton City Guards were designated as the 20th Separate Company, Infantry (New York National Guard). This designation changed after 1903, so the button likely dates to that period.

Sasinek Shoe Store shoehorn (Binghamton), about 1930s

Scope and Contents

Small metal shoehorn from the Sasinek Shoe Store, located at 202 Clinton Street in Binghamton from 1912 through 1944. The shoehorn advertises "The Friendly Five," a shoe brand founded in 1924 as part of the Jarman Shoe Company of Nasville, and other than the local branding is identical to the Paul's Boot Shop shoehorn, also in Box 31.
