He had not returned to Lambertville as planned and was attending school in Vineland. He describes his teachers and mentions that he had seen Celia and asks Grace to let him know if she gets married so that he can attend the wedding. Mentions that there is a dance but he is not attending because he fears the building might collapse.

Reports that he is not going back to Carversville for school, and that he had seen Celia briefly in the canning factory but not to speak to. Describes a party he had attended.
