Describes his return to Vineland before Thanksgiving and his activities since then, including various dances and ice skating. Notes that she can call him John but not on the outside of the envelope as his father might open it. He had not returned to Lambertville as planned and was attending school in Vineland. He describes his teachers and mentions that he had seen Celia and asks Grace to let him know if she gets married so that he can attend the wedding. Mentions that there is a dance but he is not attending because he fears the building might collapse.
