Letter from Daniel S. Dickinson to John Clapp, Esq. of Norwich, Chenango County, New York. This letter was written shortly before Dickinson left Guilford in Chenango County, where he had been serving as postmaster, for Binghamton. He sends Clapp "an appointment for agent," and writes that once he is settled in Binghamton he will visit Clapp in Norwich and "will see all matters strait."

The letter is headed "India" and the author is necessarily vague about his location, noting that he has been moving frequently over the last two months and has now "left the monsoon country and am now in a hot, dry district" ... near "one of the best airbases in India and is much nicer than most places I have been, over here.
